The Altadena Haunted Jail
Saturday October 24th - 5-9pm
Some very dangerous and spooky criminals have escaped from the Altadena Jail… Are you brave enough to go inside?
The Sheriff’s Support Group of Altadena is thrilled to bring back the first Altadena Haunted Jail in nearly two decades! Gather your family and friends for a frightfully fun night in Altadena, also featuring music and dance, classic Hollywood horror movie clips, food trucks, vendors, and a Trunk or Treat on El Molino Avenue.
But the real terror awaits inside the 99-year-old Sheriff’s Station, where the inmates have taken over—and they’re waiting for you! Prepare for creepy surprises, unexpected scares, and plenty of Halloween thrills.
Admission is FREE, but space inside is limited! Get your timed entry tickets through Eventbrite to guarantee your spot. Walk-up guests are welcome, and we’ll do our best to accommodate as many as possible.
Bring the whole family, bring your courage, and come see if you can make it through the Altadena Haunted Jail! Donations are greatly appreciated and help the Sheriff’s Support Group cover the costs of this free community event and support other projects such as the Altadena Forever Run on January 10th 2027.

Classic Hollywood Horror Comes to the Haunted Jail
Step outside the Haunted Jail and join a spine-tingling trip back to the Golden Age of Hollywood Horror!
Galen Wilkes, a lifelong enthusiast of the arts, entertainment, and history of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, combines scholarship with showmanship to bring the past vividly to life. Galen will present a chilling collection of clips featuring some of classic Hollywood’s most unforgettable horror characters and monsters—complete with spectacular makeup, eerie sets, and unforgettable atmosphere. So grab some popcorn, mix yourself a Vampire cocktail, pull up a chair, and prepare for a frightfully fun journey into the movies that helped define horror! The John Tirabasso Youth Jazz Ensemble
Performing outside throughout the night will be the John Tirabasso Youth Jazz Ensemble. This group was the desire of the late Jazz drummer and teacher John Tirabasso.
John Tirabasso told his student, Sam Estrada, that he wanted to start a jazz program for local kids. Sam got in touch with Dwight Garcia, the director of the ensemble. Together with local jazz musicians like Nolan Shaheed, Allan Wasserman and community member Cedric Smith, they formed the John Tirabasso Youth Jazz Ensemble.
Sadly, John Tirabasso passed away without ever seeing or hearing his dream coming true. The ensemble is open to any middle and high school student who is interested in playing jazz. Currently we have students from Altadena, La Crescenta, Monrovia, Pasadena and Temple City.
